After a long hiatus, big 3-UDMF talks slated for today

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Talks have been slated between major three political parties and the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) for Sunday evening.

Press Advisor to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Pramod Dahal, told Republica that Nepali Congress (NC), UML and UCPN (Maoist) will meet at first and then hold talks with the front.

According to him, major parties will talk at 4 pm and talks with front will be held at 6 pm this evening. Both the meets will be held at PM’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Sources close to the development said major parties will forge a common stance on constitution amendment bill and then present it to the front.

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has speeded up informal talks since few days.

He has been claiming that the front will arrive at consensus on settling demarcation within three months if the language in the amendment bill is changed.
