NAWALPARASI, Oct 16 (RSS): Efforts are on to establish a kidney transplantation centre in Nawalparasi with the support from the Non Resident Nepalis (NRNs).
On the initiation of the Liver Foundation Nepal and its branches across the world, preparations are on to establish the centre with all necessary facilities.
According to Foundation chair Umesh Jung Rayamajhi, works to establish the transplant centre were started with the objective of lengthening the life of kidney patients and eventually save them from facing untimely deaths.
Non Resident Nepalis across the globe promised to join hands in the Foundation's funds raising campaign from its branches in respective countries. Non resident Neaplis in the United States of America launched the funds raising campaign first, according to NRN America chair Dr Keshab Poudel.
Rayamajhi himself underwent a kidney transplant in India. His realisation that there is a lack of an advanced kidney transplant center in the country/Nepal, prompted him to take initiations for establishing such facility at home.
The NRNs have already contributed over Rs 600 thousands to realise the efforts of establishing the center. NRNS US President Poudel, Dr Rajesh Pokhrel, Bishwa Adarsha Pundti, Krishna Lamichhane, Dharma Bhattarai, Bishnu Shah, Buddisagar Subedi, Kapildev Thapa and Sita Sapkota provided from 50 thousands and 100 thousands.
