KATHMANDU, Dec 5: The outgoing Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has accused former King Gyanendra Shah of intervening in the Unity General Convention on the party in order to defeat him.
“I condemn the naked intervention by Nirmal Niwas (the residence of former King Gyanendra Shah) of interfering in the internal election of the party,” Thapa tweeted on Sunday morning.
Furthermore, Thapa tweeted, “ The prize was received today for carrying the monarchy since 2006 when the wave of republic swept across the country. Good luck to the king for trying to eliminate politically the main driver of that agenda. Best wishes.”
Thapa also mentioned that he was happy to accept defeat in the election and congratulated Lingden over his victory.
