Speaking at the fifth edition of Poemandnu jointly organised by the BP Koirala Nepal-India Academy and Indian Embassy in Nepal, the Nepal Academy Chancellor said entire credit for developing the Nepali language goes to the Adikavi Bhanubhakta.
Also speaking on the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad remembered the Adikavi for his invaluable contribution to the development of Nepali language and pledged his help build a new three-story library building in the Academy.
Former Ambassador Jayaraj Acharya , first secretary at the Embassy Abhay Kumar talked about the contribution of poet Bhanubhakta Acharya in the promotion of Nepali language.
On the occasion, 16 poets recited their creation written in Sanskrit, Nepali, Hindi, English, Newari and Awadhi languages.
Prof Dr Sanat Kumar Wasti, Prof Dr Prayagraj Bashistha, Shyam Rimal, Nawaraj Lamsal, Himchandra Nepal, Deependra Adhikari, Radha Yadav, Ratna Nidhi Regmi, Shukracharya, Dr Shailendra Prakash, Geeta Tripathi, Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ishwori Karki, Jayanta Pokhrel, Prabha Bhattarai and Medini Kumar Kewal were among those reciting poems on the occasion.
