KATHMANDU, Sept 24: The government has clarified that it is going to adjust the positions of civil servants to provide effective services in agencies with high workload.

Addressing confusion surrounding the decisions taken by the secretaries' meeting on September 16, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) has stated that additional positions of employees will be provided in the sectors with high workload.

According to Dr Bhishma Kumar Bhusal, Joint Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the decision was taken by the secretary-level meeting for the purpose of managing posts in agencies that are facing difficulties in service delivery due to high workload. The adjustment of positions will be done in a way that does not affect the career development of the civil servants.

The OPMCM has also communicated to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration on Tuesday about the matter.
