KATHMANDU, April 27: A group of social activists has provided food and relief materials to people hit hard by the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
The group provided meals to 50 persons taking care of their patients at Patan Hospital in collaboration with Lagankhel Society, Patan Hospital administration, and the representative of the local ward.
Likewise, they also provided evening meals to more than 100 persons including people from the marginalized communities and street people around the Lagankhel area. Representatives of wards 5, 6, 12, 15, and 19 of Lalitpur Metropolis also joined the food distribution campaign.
Eating junk food is bad for health!
As part of their campaign to support the people affected by the lockdown, the group members provided morning meals to 40 persons who were taking care of their patients at Manmohan Cardiac Centre, Maharajgunj. The hospital administration also provided support to the campaign.
This group of social activists also provided snacks to eight elderly females at Annas Home at Bhanimandal in Lalitpur.
On Monday, the group received 100 masks and 100 gloves from Umesh Agrawal, three PPE suits from Deepak Raj Sapkota, and food items worth Rs 10,000 from Subina Shrestha.
Nepal Airlines Captain Vijaya Lama took the lead role in this food distribution campaign during the time of the coronavirus pandemic, according to its members.
