Active COVID-19 cases in Nepal drop to 27 as 4th patient is discharged

KATHMANDU, April 19: Another COVID-19 patient was discharged on Sunday, bringing the total active cases to 27.


The 21-year-old India returnee from Kailali tested negative during the second and third test and was discharged from Seti Provincial Hospital.

Earlier, the first patient- a China-returnee was the first to recover. The second confirmed 19-year-old France-returnee went home on Saturday after recovery. 


Similarly, a 65-year-old woman from Baglung, who was a Belgium-returnee tested negative and was discharged on Saturday.


Meanwhile, PM KP Sharma Oli, via Facebook and Twitter, congratulated the fourth recovered patient and thanked the medical staff involved in the treatment.


Of the 31 confirmed cases, there are now 27 active cases and all of them are receiving medical treatment at different hospitals. No death has been reported so far in Nepal due to this deadly virus.
