Active cases surpass 31,000-mark as Nepal records 3,125 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday

KATHMANDU, August 2: With 3,125 new cases of COVID-19 recorded on Monday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Nepal has reached 31,629.

KATHMANDU, August 2: With 3,125 new cases of COVID-19 recorded on Monday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Nepal has reached 31,629.


According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 3,125 new cases of COVID-19 along with 1,925 recoveries and 23 deaths due to the disease were recorded on Monday.

As many as 13,811 COVID-19 tests were conducted today. So far, 9,898 people have died of COVID-19 in Nepal.


There are currently 28,405 COVID-19 patients in home isolations, 3,224 in institutional isolations, 670 in ICUs and 175 on ventilators across the country as of Monday afternoon.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 770 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 556 were detected in Kathmandu, 99 in Bhaktapur and 115 in Lalitpur districts.
