KATHMANDU, July 21: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has shared that it has so far recommended the government to take actions against perpetrators in 738 incidents of human rights violation since its inception.
The human rights constitutional body since its establishment in 26 May 2000 has recommended actions in 738 anti-human rights incidents up to the fiscal year 2015-16, shared the statement issued by NHRC Member Mohana Ansari on Wednesday.

However, the NHRC has recommended actions only in 78 among 738 human rights violation incidents specifying the names of perpetrators.
Likewise, the human rights watchdog body has recommended the government to identify the perpetrators and take actions in 263 incidents while it is in 51 cases the government was recommended to slap action against the guilty as per the existing laws, the statement reads.
The NHRC has recommended actions in 35 criminal cases while the number of recommendations for investigation into such human rights violation cases is 27. Likewise, the number of recommendation for necessary action is 32.
The statement further noted that the number of recommendation for compensation in human rights cases is 512. RSS
