Accountability Lab announces top five officials for integrity icon

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Nepal chapter of Accountability Lab has shortlisted five government officials as part of its annual event to honor honest government employees.


Under its sixth season of Integrity Icon Nepal 2019, the lab has named five officials before opening voting to choose the winner. This year's top five officials include Gyanendra Kumar Mishra of the Project Facilitation Department at the Ministry of Forest and Environment; Ishwar Subedi, food investigation officer at the Department of Food, Technology and Quality Control; Kajiman Rai, chief administrative officer of Chulachuli Rural Municipality, Ilam; Prem Bahadur Darai, a teacher at Shree Bhanu Secondary School, Dhumsichaur, Tanahun; and Punya Prabha Devkota, a senior ANM of District Hospital, Mugu.

The top five names were selected from among 1,190 nominations received from across 74 districts in Nepal from December 7 to March 30. The call for nomination was made through online media platforms such as social media and websites, and volunteer mobilization across Nepal.


The selection process was carried out by an independent panel of jury. The judges went through a rigorous 7-step selection process mandated by the Integrity Icon Nepal Guideline, 2075.
