Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Saptari Sanjeev Sharma said Suresh Yadav was found blindfolded.[break] Two persons -- Gokarna Mukhiya of Sakarpura-3, Saptari and Siltu Mukhiya of Bhimnagar, Bihar -- have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“God has saved me,” the traumatized boy said at a press conference. He said he was blindfolded and repeatedly beaten. Suresh has been handed over to his father Narayan, who is a VDC secretary, in Rajbiraj.
“His has been traumatized due to continuous torture by abductors over seven days,” DSP Sharma said. A team was formed under inspector Bhuwaneshwar Mukhiya to investigate into the case and the team went to India following a tip off that the boy had been taken to India. “They moved the boy to another place when we were preparing to raid where he possibly had first been held hostage. We later rescued him from a hut in Dharahara,” Sharma revealed.
Status of another abducted unknown
The whereabouts of Gourav Chaudhary abducted by an armed group from Lahan, Siraha Tuesday night has yet to be known.
The family said they received two calls, one on the night of abduction and another on Thursday, from a number that was not visible on the cell phone but the connection was snipped off each time.
Police said there has been no success despite raiding several possible places of hiding. “Many had seen the boy being taken away after abduction. But no one has come forward to help the police,” inspector Lal Dhwaj Subedi said.
