DARCHULA, Oct 29: A child walking on the road in Nepali side of the border was killed after a stone exploded in India at Tambaku in Vyas Rural Municipality-2 of Darchula.
Pawan Mahara, a nine-year-old son of Hikmat Mahara of Vyas Rural Municipality-2, died on Friday morning when he was walking on the road while returning home from Tambakhu.

Dhiran Singh Budhathoki, Chairman of Vyas Rural Municipality Ward No 2, said that around 9:30 in the morning, a stone coming from Indian side of the border hit Mahara who, was coming with his father and sister towards Dumling from a place near Tambakhu located in Vyas Rural Municipality-2.
He said that the incident took place when the Garg & Garg construction company, which is constructing a road in the rocky terrain of Lakhimpur, Tawaghat-Lipulek road section under Darchula in Pithoragarh district of India, detonated it without giving any information to people in the border area. His sister, who was walking with Mahara, was also injured by a stone that came from the other side of the border.
From Dumling in the upper region, the Indian side is constructing a road across the border causing extensive damage to the border area towards Nepal. Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been sent from Dumling to the incident site. According to the District Police Office, Darchula, a team of police personnel from the district police office has reached the incident site.
