KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Manang Marsyangdi (MMC) Club has become victorious in the first match played today under the Martyrs Memorial “A” Division League Football Championship.
Manang Marsyangdi Club defeated New Road Team (NRT) 2-0 in the match held at the Armed Police Force’s football ground at Halchok. Manang Marsyangdi had taken a lead with a goal scored through penalty by Anjan Bista in the 17th minute of play. Manang had won the penalty after NRT player tripped Anjan inside the D-box.

African player scored another goal for Manang in the 39th minute. Although NRT fought back with improved performance in the second half as compared to the first half, it could not score any goal.
Manang's Anjan won the 'Man of the Match' title, bagging a cash prize of Rs 10,000. With the victory, the team is on the topmost position of the point table by collecting six points from two matches while the NRT has so far collected just one point. In the first match, the Manang defeated the Brigade Boys by 3-1 and the NRT played the 2-2 draw with the Tribhuvan Army.
