PM hosts tea reception

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal hosted a tea-party and greetings-exchange program at his official residence to mark the new year of Nepal Sambat, and Deepawali and Chhath festivals.



Present on the occasion were ministers, high-ranking government officials, leaders of various political parties, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police chiefs and officials related with various communities and languages.



Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala and Nepal Sambat Function Committee officials were also present.



On the occasion, CPN-UML Central Member Krishna Gopal Shrestha said the Newar community was happy with the declaration of the PM on forming a high-level research committee for studying the implementation of the Nepal Sambat as a national era.
