Koirala argued that a Maoist-led government in the country would push the country into anarchy since the Maoists´ activities have clearly shown that their intention is not good.
Koirala said that the interference of the Maoist-led government in the army and other state institutions has substantiated the apprehensions that the Maoists are indeed adopting a strategy to capture state. He asked other political parties to understand the Maoist strategy before it is too late.
Koirala said there was no meaning of Maoist victory in the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls as they made it through terror with the help of Young Communist League (YCL) cadres.
He said the NC failed to cooperate with the Maoists as the latter have been unable to convince other parties that they are committed to democracy.
Koirala also announced his candidacy for the post of the party president in the upcoming 12th general convention. "I will file my candidacy for the post of president to help end schism within the party and also bring about institutional development in the party," he added.
