Chinese petrol arrives in KTM

KATHMANDU : The first lot of China’s fuel grant to Nepal arrived Kathmandu on Monday.
Twelve tankers of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) entered Kathmandu Monday evening, carrying 98,000 liters of petrol.A team of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and Chinese Embassy in Nepal had left for Kerung of China on Friday to receive China’s fuel grant.
China has announced to provide Nepal 1,000 tons of petrol as grant to address acute shortage of fuel that the country is witnessing due to blockade imposed by India. NOC officials have vowed to receive entire 1,000 tons of Chinese fuel grant by mid-November.
The Chinese petrol has been stored at Thankot-based depot of Nepal Oil Corporation.
