828 Nepali nationals rescued from Afghanistan so far

KATHMANDU, August 31: A total of 828 Nepali nationals wanting to return from Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover were repatriated till Monday.  

On Monday, 45 Nepalis were brought to Nepal in a Turkish Air flight while five others arrived in Nepal in a Fly Dubai flight on Sunday. Nepalis stranded in the country were rescued with the assistance of friendly nations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MoFA).

They are kept at the Holding Center managed by the Government of Nepal in Samakhusi after completing necessary processes including testing of COVID-19 as per the health safety protocols. The process is facilitated by the Central COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC).
