MAHENDRANAGAR, Jan 14: A major fire that broke out in Shraddha Food Industries at Mohanpur in Geta VDC in Kailali damaged food grains worth Rs 20 millions, Tuesday, said an official at the company.
The fire that started from 3 a.m. Tuesday could only be controlled at 4 p.m. The 13-hour rage destroyed paddy and other foodstuff stocked in the storage of the company, said manager of Shraddha Food Industries, Om Prakash Sethia.
The workers who live in adjoining building are all safe, said Sethia.
More than 150 personnel from Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police and locals got together to douse the fire with the help of lone fire-fighting engine from neighboring Dhangadhi Municipality.
