PR lawmakers submit memo to Speaker Nembang

KATHMANDU, July 11: Proportional lawmakers have requested the government to correct the ‘discrimination between lawmakers directly-elected and those chosen through proportional electoral system’.



Proportional lawmakers of all parties representing the parliament submitted a memorandum to speaker Subas Nembang on Saturday demanding to correct ‘discrimination’ in the Constituency Development Fund.

The government in the current fiscal budget had allocated Rs 10 million for directly-elected lawmakers through the fund.


A meeting of the fringe parties held on Wednesday had drawn the attention of the government to provide the amount also to those elected through proportional system through the upcoming budget.
