The deceased are Driver Bhim Chaudhary, whose address is yet to be ascertained, and Co-driver Birkaji Tamang alias Birkhe of Solukhumbu.
Tamang died on the spot while Chaudhary breathed his last while being rushed to Bhandareghat-based health-post in an ambulance, said DSP Binod Raj Kharel of Khotang District Police Office.
The accident is presumed to have occurred due to slimy road caused by yesterday's rain. The tractor which had departed from Diktel at 7 am to fetch sand from Sappukhola had met with an accident at 4 pm yesterday.
