KHOTANG, Oct 18: Mintrol Samten Tsoling Monastry of Diktel Municipality-5, damaged by the 2015 earthquake, is waiting renovation and reconstruction.

“The field report prepared by the police was submitted to the District Development Committee and the municipality but no one has responded till date for help,” he added.

The monastery was constructed by collecting donation in order to perform important rituals such as birth, marriage and death of the Sherpa community as well as to provide the Lama education aimed at 100 households in the locality.

Various organizations and individuals had provided Rs 1.4 million while the Monastery Management Central Community Kathmandu contributed Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 was collected on the initiative of Pema Sherpa for the construction of the monastery.
