Wife-basher garlanded with footwear

MAHENDRANAGAR, Aug 5: A man who bashed up and verbally abused his wife was paraded here by local women after making him wear a garland of shoes and slippers on Wednesday.



Madan Bista, a resident of Jhalari-5, Kanchanpur, beat up his wife after getting drunk. Neighbors intervened and garlanded Bista with shoes, and then paraded him around Jhalari bazaar.



Police personnel from Area Police Office, Jhalari, rescued Bista and handed him over to his wife, daughter-in-law and neighbors.
