KATHMANDU, Oct 29: CPN-Maoist has urged the government and the major four political parties to put off the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections and hold a round table meeting as proposed by the 33-party alliance earlier.

In a press statement issued today, the CPN-Maoist said, “We humbly request the government and the four major political parties to put off the upcoming CA elections and take initiative to end the existing political deadlock.” [break]

Bypassing the 33-party alliance, the so called upcoming CA elections will hold no meaning nor will it bring out the desired constitution, reads the statement.

The party has also made an appeal to all the stakeholders to take initiative in this regard and called for an immediate release of their leaders and cadres arrested.
