Kathmandu, Aug 13: The United States Embassy in Kathmandu has rejected visa application of Nepal's leg-spin sensation Sandeep Lamichhane on Tuesday.
Lamichhane took to twitter to share that he got a big surprise to find his visa got rejected in spite of being a national cricket player representing the country in the various leagues since 2016 around the world.
He had applied for a visa to participate in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 which will begin from September 4, 2019, in the West Indies.
In another tweet, he wrote, “I was smiling and I was speechless to see all this, having all the proper documents I got this surprise. Being a sportsperson, it’s going to be a bit hard for me to go and participate in CPL for Barbados Tridents,”
In the twitter, he expressed his dissatisfaction over visa denial by mentioning Hello Sarkar, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lamichhane had earlier played in 2018 edition of CPL for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots .
