According to government Spokesperson Gangalal Tuladhar, the government also promoted five joint secretaries--Suresh Kumar Shreshtha, Tulsi Sitaula, Madhav Prasad Regmi, Bishwa Prakash Pandit and Lila Mani Joshi--to the post of secretaries.
Likewise, the cabinet decided to recommend Foreign Secretary Madan Kumar Bhattarai as Nepal´s envoy to Japan. A seasoned diplomat, Secretary Bhattarai holds Ph.D. and D. Litt in International Relations.
Similarly, the meeting decided to promote three Brigadier Generals--Ramesh Bista, Victor SJB Rana and Mahesh Bikram Karki--to the post of Major Generals of the NA.
Bista has been entrusted with the responsibility of Divisional Commander at the Nepal Army´s Far Western Divisional Headquarters, Dipayal. Similarly, Rana and Karki have been posted to the Western Divisional Headquarters, Pokhara and Eastern Divisional Headquarters, Itahari, respectively.
The Cabinet has also reshuffled responsibilities of six major generals. Major General Netra Bhadur Thapa has been appointed as the Master of General Ordinance while Kumar Budathoki of the Far Western Divisional Headquarter has been transferred to National Security Council. Major General Nara Bahadur Kandel of the Western Divisional Headquarters has been transferred to the Department of the Adjutant General.
Similarly, Major General Dambar Gurung, Narendra Rawal and Ram Bahadur Gurung have been entrusted the responsibilities of the Office of the Inspection General, Office of the Quarter Master General and Office of the Director General of Military Training, respectively.
Among other things, the cabinet meeting appointed Dr. Sumitra Amatya as general manager of Waste Management Center.
