KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Two workers have died of asphyxiation while cleaning up Melamchi water supply pipeline at Balaju in the capital on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Suresh Shah, 25, and Shivaram Shah, 20, of Saptari, according to Metropolitan Police Crime Division Teku.
Spokesperson at the MPCD Hobindra Bogati told Republica Online that the duo died of suffocation at around 9:50 am when they were cleaning up water supply pipeline near Balaju Chowk.
The dead bodies were recovered later this morning. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
