Floods displace dozens of families in Dolakha, Kanchanpur

KATHMANDU, July 28: Twelve families have migrated due to floods at Thidekanle village of Sundrawati VDC 1 in Dolakha district, the local Red Cross said. The flood has been unstoppable. Krishna Prasad Shivakoti, Kulprasad Shiwakoti, Tulasi Shivakoti, Indralaal Shivakoti and Ramji Shivakoti´s family had to be displaced, informs Yagyabinod Pokharel, DSP of Dolakha.



Likewise, 70 families of Krishnapur VDC in Kanchanpur district have been displaced by floods after heavy rains on Tuesday.



In Darchula, the rains claimed two lives. Two others were injured, while one person is missing. Urmila Thagunna, 12, and her sister Harina Thagunna, 14, were killed on Monday. Their parents Gagansingh and Ujali Thagunna were seriously injured after their house in Khar VDC- 5 was buried in landslide.
