NEPALGUNJ, Oct 3: Thefts were reported at seven houses in Belahari-9, Baniyagaun of the district on Sunday, the very first day police had launched a special security arrangements targeting the festive season.
Local Dinesh Gupta said that thieves made off with property worth Rs 1.5 million from the village adjoining Neplagunj Sub-metropolitan city.
“Villagers were out of their house as a worship ceremony was underway in the village. Thieves took the benefit of unattended houses,” Gupta said.
Locals told Republica Online that thieves ran away with jewelries, cash and food grains.
DSP Saroj Poudel at Area Police Office, Banke said that police have started investigation into the case.
