DHANUSA, March 14: Police on Saturday arrested seven persons in connection with the incident of death of eight men after consuming domestic alcohol in Kshireshwornath municipality in the district.
Following the incident of death of eight in Ramdaiya of ward 1 and 2 of the municipality on Friday and Saturday after drinking the poisonous drink, police apprehended seven including a local supplier Jagat Narayan Mandal of Bhangaha municipality-3, Mahottari to investigate the case.

Other six arrestees include the liquor sellers Nabin Yadav, Ghuran Yadav of Laksminiya rural municipality-6, Bagewa; Chhathiya Devi aka Tara Pattiwali, Jaya Kumar Yadav, Ram Nandan Shah of Ramdaiya and Shital Devi Yadav of Janakpurdham municipality-14, Rajaul.
According to police, the accused had been selling the liquor which was illegally produced in Bhangaha of Mahottari. The moonshine filled in the bottle of branded alcohol had been supplied to the village by Jagat Narayan.
According to police, eight persons died after consuming the drink. The deceased have been identified as Ram Narayan Mahara, Brahma Dev Yadav, Ram Bilas Mandal, Gudari Mahara, Raju Mahara, Indrajit Mahara, Shatrughna Mandal and Shridev Yadav.
Similarly, Ram Ishwar Mahara, Pradip Sada, Bharat Mandal, Madir Nadaf, Bharat Sada and Sitaram Yadav are in critical condition and have been medical treatment.
