KATHMANDU, May 18: The 6th Nepal Chamber Expo-2023 kicked off here in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Organized by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), the expo was inaugurated by Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari amid an event. The expo aims to encourage the business community by promoting the export of domestic goods, said the NCC.
There are 150 stalls set up for the expo that runs until May 22, and products like automobiles, electrical and electronic appliances, furnishings, essentials, clothes, mobile phones, handicrafts, and leather, cosmetic and ayurvedic products are on display.

National and international companies and businesspersons from Nepal, India and Bangladesh have participated in the expo.
Interactions, exchanges of information about imports and exports and the marketisation of Nepali products are expected to take place at the expo, said the NCC.
On the occasion, Minister Bhandari stressed the need for the government and the private sector to go hand in hand for the country's economic prosperity.
He called on the private sector to increase investment while saying the government would facilitate them for increasing economic activities.
Similarly, the ministry secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini expressed the hope that the expo would help in the exchange of national and international experiences, and further expand business relations nationally and internationally.
Also, NCC President Rajendra Malla stressed the need for attracting foreign investments in agriculture, hydropower, tourism and the service sector, and promoting exports and increasing domestic productions to make the country self-reliant.
