DHANGADHI, Oct 5: Minister for Health Gagan Thaha has sought cooperation from parliamentarians to save life of Dr Govinda KC who is currently staging fast-unto-death for the ninth time.
Speaking at a press conference in Dhangadi today, Minister Thapa recalled that he had requested the senior orthopedic surgeon not to stage hunger strike, pledging that he will not allow any wrongdoings in the Ministry of Health.
The 59-year-old bachelor medico, however, recently began ninth hunger strike, citing that his demands relating to the reforms on medical education and health service were not address.
Minister Thapa was of the belief that Dr KC's protest would be ended if the issues relating to the appointment of the new Dean in the Institute of Medicine under the Tribhuvan University are addressed. RSS
