KATHMANDU, Aug 13: In a bid to bring the agitating party on board the election process, the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) held on Tuesday second round of talks with Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Nepal (MPRF-N) Upendra Yadav-led Federal Democratic Front (FDF).

According to Parshuram Tamang, Spokesperson of FDF, they have reached closer to the deal on the four points out of  the six point-demands presented by the front in the first round of meeting.

He, however, added that they are yet to forge consensus on the remaining two points that includes resignation of chairman of Interim Government Council  Khil Raj Regmi form the post of Chief Justice and delineation of election constituencies based on the population in Terai districts.

The next round of meeting between the two sides has been slated for tomorrow.

Earlier on August 7, during the first round of meeting, as preconditions for going to polls, the FDF had put forth six demands including dissolution of the HLPC, resignation of Khil Raj Regmi, who heads the poll government, from the post of CJ, delineation of election constituencies based on the population figures shown by the latest census of 2011, additional time for voter registration with photo and biometrics, and maintaining intact the 58:42 ratio between the proportional electoral and first-past-the-post systems of the erstwhile CA.
