How do you analyze the internet-based threats in the Nepali market?
Along with increasing number of people using the internet in Nepal, we have seen dramatic rise in the most basic threats targeted toward individual. Incidents involving hacking, phishing and malware have gone up in Nepal over the days. The number of reported cybercrime has also increased manifold in the Nepali market. All these threats need to be addressed promptly through installation of the right antivirus.
How does Kaspersky plan to address these problems?
Kaspersky internet security 2014 and Kaspersky antivirus 2014 are designed to address today´s major security concerns of the customers that include real time protection against emerging threats and the loss of sensitive information during the online transactions. With the new version of Kaspersky, I believe that much of the threats can be tackled.
Six years on, what potential do you see in the Nepali market?
We consider Nepal as one of the strategic markets for our growth. With the launch of the 2014 edition of consumer security solution, we look forward to greater market share. At present the market share of Kaspersky in Nepal is 80 percent. Moreover, our partnership with Sagar Software and Traders has been fruitful to a large extent. We will try to further explore the Nepali market through multiple means.
Nepal is among the nations with the majority of youths using the internet. We will bring programs to make them aware about the possible threats they might face while surfing the internet.
