Issuing a press note on Tuesday, the NSP said that Mandal would no longer be a general member of the party.
Meanwhile, Mandal, who is also former president of the party, is all set to join Rajendra Mahato-led Sadhavana Party amidst a function in Biratnagar on Wednesday. Mandal held ministerial posts several times in the past. [break]
During the King-Gyanedra’s direct regime in the country, Mandal was a deputy prime minister.
"He (Mandal) has been suspended from the party as he violated the norms of the party," said the press note, adding, "He delivered a speech favoring reinstatement of the monarchy on the behalf of party office bearer, it is against our party policy."
However, Mandal has refuted accusations ployed by the NSP. He added that he was not sacked as claimed by NSP rather he himself submitted resignation letter to the party chairperson Sarita Giri on August 2.
Talking to Republica, Party Spokesperson Govind Sah has said that Mandal has been suspended from the party´s general membership as well. "He will be no longer a member of our party," said Sah.
General Secretary of Mahato-led Sadbhavana Party, Manish Suman said that Mandal will join his party.
