Government and FRNF talks end on a positive note

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The talks held between the Government and the Federal Republican National Front of eight different political parties regarding participation in the upcoming CA elections ended positively on Thursday.





The talks held at a hotel in Lalitpur were focused on the 16-point demand put forth by the Front including among others to dissolve the high-level political committee and the 11-point agreement and 25-point order to remove difficulties in the constitution, and to postpone the date for CA elections. Talking to media persons following the talks, Spokesperson of the Government and Minister for Information and Communications Madhav Prasad Poudel said the talks ended positively with a decision to meet again in a week, as there was a need to hold further discussion on the demands of the front.



Coordinator of the Front Kishore Biswas said an agreement was almost reached on the demand for an all-side conference and expressed the confidence that the issue would be resolved through a dialogue.



The government talks team comprised Coordinator and Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire and members Communications Minister Poudel and Minister for Health Bidhyadhar Mallik.
