Prime Minister Nepal made the announcement in Musikot, the district headquarters of Rukum district, Monday morning, according to an official at the Prime Minister´s Office. Nepal flew to the diarrhea-hit districts in the morning to observe and acquire information about the epidemic.
"Families of each deceased will get Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 additional amount will be given to poor families losing their kin in the epidemic," prime minister said.
He said that the government will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to provide medicines, doctors and other essentials and to stop the epidemic from further spreading to other areas.
The prime minister will visit several other places of Rukum and Jajarkot districts before returning to the capital in the evening.
He urged local political parties, civil society members and representatives of local organizations to support the government in improving the situation.
Health Minister Uma Kanta Chaudhary, doctors, senior officials, political party representatives, among other, are accompanying the prime minister.
