On the occasion of its Independence Day, the national flag of Pakistan was hoisted at Nepal based Pakistani Embassy in the Capital, Kathmandu, amid a function.[break]
The officials of the Pakistani Embassy and the Pakistani nationals were present in the celebration.
Officiating Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Ahmar Ismail hoisted the national flag and read out the separate messages sent by Pakistani President Asif Ali Jardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raja Gilani.
The message of Pakistani President Jardari has said that the Pakistani people were marking the 65th Independence Day and are witnessing the power of Democracy in action.
He urged all the people in and outside the country to employ the democratic power in the service of the country and people so as to make Pakistan a truly modern dynamic, progressive, and democratic country.
Similarly, Pakistani Prime Minister Gilani said the August 14 was an historic day wherein the Muslims of the Subcontinent chronicled a glorious chapter of Sacrifice, commitment and self-less devotion.
The message further reads out the establishment of Pakistan was culmination of the Muslim´ relentless struggle to preserve their unique cultural identity, heritage civilization and protect their political and economic rights.
Pakistani Prime Minister Gilani said it was a matter of immense pride that Pakistan came into being as a result of democratic, political, and Constitutional struggle.
