The government should hold CA poll on scheduled date of November 19 in several phases. "For ensuring free, fair and peaceful election, it should be held in phases," said Nepal adding, "Electronic voting machine, electoral rolls with biometrics and photographs and voter identity cards could be used in all constituencies, if elections are held in different phases."
"Madhesi leaders from different parties have been joining UML, in fact only the UML can address Madhes issues properly," claimed Nepal. He alleged that the UCPN (Maoist) and Madhes-based parties are involved in disturbing communal harmony.
"Madhes-based parties have lost ground in Madhes," he claimed.
Nepal welcomed the chairman of Federal Socialist Party Yaduvansh Jha in his party on Sunday. Indicating at party leader Ram Chandra Jha, who recently defected to the UCPN (Maoist), Nepal said, "UML leaders who joined other parties but could not get proper positions in the new party will ultimately have to return to the UML."
UML General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel addressed the function in Maithili. "Madhesi people are fed-up with the Maoists and I am sure that they will not vote them to power this time," said Pokharel. He claimed that Maoists won the last CA poll unsing the threat of gun. "But this time their arms would not make any differences in the polls," he further claimed.
