Speaking at a program organized by All Nepal Teachers Association at Khairahani in Chitwan, Dahal said that if his party gets a two-third majority in the fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) poll he would build a ´New Nepal´ within five years, a prosperous Nepal within 10 years, and would make the people prosperous within 20 years. "We are happy to be participating in the CA election on November 19 and we are sure of a majority vote for the sake of federalism, democracy and transformation", he said.
Dahal said the announcement of the fresh CA poll date was welcomed by the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhes-based parties as well. He claimed that no one could dare to be a hurdle to a federal democratic set-up. He said his party was no longer an armed party.
Vice-chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Babu Ram Bhattarai claimed that his party was the real representative of the Nepali people.
"I request the teachers of Chitwan to prepare an electoral environment in favor of our party, since we are the true representative of the Nepali people", he added.
Another UCPN (Maoist) vice-chairman, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, appealed to the teachers to prepare a healthy environment and make his party successful. "Teachers have sound access to the villages and their role could be decisive in elections", he said.
Spokesperson Agni Sapkota, leader Hit Raj Pandey, Amik Sherchan and student leader Himal Sharma also appealed to people to vote for the party.
Program coordinator Tulshi Prasad Ghimire said that a total of 1,125 teachers from throughout Nepal participated in the program, which was good for the party. "Education policy, the teachers´ movement and upcoming issues in planning would be the agenda of the program", he said.
