At a programme organised by the CPN-UML at its headquarters in Balkhu on the occasion of the 20th Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day, Khanal said that the UCPN (Maoist) to become the first party in the first CA election was a misfortune for the country.
He claimed that the CPN-UML will take important tasks including constitution building to a logical conclusion by establishing itself as the first power in the next election.
Stating that Madan Bhandari and Jibraj Ashrit had made important contributions to Nepali Communist movement, the CPN-UML chairman mentioned that the country has reached to this situation based on their very principles.
He stressed on the need of taking the course of action of People´s Multiparty Democracy to a logical conclusion.
Present on the occasion were party leaders KP Oli, Bamdev Gautam, Bidya Bhandari, among others.
Meanwhile, CPN-UML Valley Special Coordination Committee organised a blood donation programme at the premises of the party office today on the occasion of the 20th Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day.
