Revenue collection up by 22% this year: Finance Minister

KATHMANDU, April 24: Revenue collection by mid April of the current fiscal year 2069-70 BS has been at 32.49 billion rupees with an increase of 22. 30 percent as compared to last fiscal year.



The Finance Ministry said of the total revenue of 32.49 billion, Rs. 29.85 billion was raised from tax revenue, and in non-tax, it was 2.63 billion rupees. In the same period last FY, it was 17.2 billion rupees.



In this period, Rs. 931 million more was raised as against the target of 31.56 billion rupees or an increase of 18.5 percent.



Revenue recovery was encouraging from the reform in customs evaluation and making the evaluation scientific and campaign against tax evading, said Spokesman of the Finance Ministry Janmajaya Regmi.



He said there was positive impact in revenue from leakage control, and increase of import in vehicles, petroleum, and communication equipments, among others.
