Woman robbed of Rs 1 million

RAJBIRAJ, April 11: In an incident of broad daylight robbery, an unidentified group looted one million rupees from a woman at Hanumannagar in Saptari on Thursday.



Sarita Devi Rajak of Chakala of Mahadeva VDC-3 who was traveling to Rajbiraj carrying the amount of money for the ownership transfer of a land to her name, was looted by the group. [break]



Rajak was supposed to deposit the amount at the Agricultural Development Bank to release the land, which she was going to buy, kept as collateral in the bank. However, she was robbed before she could reach the bank.



According to Rajak , the money was sent by her husband working in Malaysia. Two unknown youths had snatched the money packed in a red cloth and ran away while Rajak and her brother-in-law were talking with the landowner.



Unable to cope with the stress caused by losing such a huge amount of money, Rajak has been suffering from fits of unconsciousness. Police are searching for the robbers.
