Lalita Angbohang of Chage-4 of the district was seriously injured in the mishap and is undergoing treatment at the Taplejung district hospital. [break]
Other injured include Sharmila Maden and Nar Bahadur Maden of Hangdewa, Bal Bahadur Labung and Resma Sawa of Ikhagu, and Udaya Limbu of Khejenim.
All of them have sustained injuries to their limbs, Gita Rai, a staff nurse at the district hospital informed.
The speeding taxi (Dha 1 Ja 55) lost control and met with the accident, ASI Bhojraj Kattel at the district traffic said.
The assistant driver was driving the taxi when the mishap occurred, eye witnesses said. The driver and his assistant are at large.
