“We have finally introduced Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 in Nepal. They were officially launched on Friday,” said Vivek Sharma Dhandh, managing director of the company.[break]
Dhandh said his company was receiving lots of inquiries for the two phones ever since they were launched in the international market.
“The response is good so far and sales are also brisk,” Dhandh said. The company has set a target of selling 150 units of these phones within a month.
According to the company, both the phones come with Windows 8 operating system, Qualcomm MSM 8960 Snapdragon chipset with dual core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and Adreno 225 graphics processing unit. Both the phones are equipped with sensors like accelerometer, gyrometer and compass.
Though Lumia 820 and 920 come with 7 GB cloud storage capacity and 1 GB RAM, their internal memory capacity is different. Lumia 920 has 32 GB internal memory, which cannot be expanded as it does not come with SD card slot, while Lumia 820 has 8 GB internal memory expandable up to 64 GB.
Lumia 920 is a 4.5 inch In-Plane Switching LCD capacitive touch screen phone protected by scratch proof Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The screen has a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels with 332 ppi pixel density.
Lumia 820, on the other hand, is a 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen phone with screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and 217 ppi pixel density.
Lumia 920 comes with 8.7 mega pixels Pureview technology auto focus camera with digital zoom and 1.3 mega pixels front camera. Lumia 820 consists of 8 mega pixels auto focus camera at the back and 0.3 mega pixel VGA camera in the front.
The camera of both the phones has LED flash at the back and allows users to capture video of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second.
According to Virgin Mobile, Lumia 920 comes with 2,000mAH battery that allows 17 hours of talk time, 67 hours of music playback and 6 hours of video playback.
Lumia 820, on the other hand, comes with 1,650 mAh battery, which allows 14 hours of talk time, 55 hours of music playback and 5 hours of video playback.
“Both the phones support wireless charging for which customers have to buy a socket which will soon be available at the store at a nominal price,” said Dhandh.
Both the phones are available in black, white, red, yellow and grey, while Lumia 820 also comes in additional colors like blue and violet.
According to Dhandh, Lumia 820 is priced at Rs 48,990, while Lumia 920 costs Rs 67,180. They come with one-year warranty.
“We will be conducting a lucky draw among those buying Lumia 820 and 920 at the end of March. The company is offering cash back facility to the lucky winner,” said Dhandh.
