Maoist cadres surrender to police over murder

RUKUM, Jan 24: Three UCPN (Maoist) cadres accused of murder of a Nepali Congress (NC) leader surrendered before the District Police Office, Rukum seeking penalty on Thursday.



Cadres Gam Bahadur Kusari (35), Ali Bahadur Kusari (27) and Tul Bahadur Devkota (25) of Duli-5 turned themselves up at the police office and confessed the murder of NC Duli president Kabi Ram Khatri. [break]



District Court remanded a seven-day custody to the accused, District Police Chief Rajendra Prasad Bhatta informed.



Khatri’s wife Ranamati had filed a complaint at Rukum police office on January 16 accusing the trio of murder. Khatri who had gone missing since December 28 was found dead after three days in Ramri jungle.
