People want fresh elections: Prez

TANAHUN, Nov 5: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav said the people want fresh elections to end the present political crisis in the country.



Speaking at a program organized to mark  the diamond jubilee of Suryodaya Higher Secondary School at Dura Danda, Lamjung on Monday, the president said he has been suggesting to the government and the political parties to go for fresh mandate. [break]



“I have found that the people want fresh elections,” the president added, “I have been suggesting to the political parties for the same.”



He expressed his deep regret that the country failed to institutionalize the historic achievement after the 12-point agreement between the then rebels and the government.



Mentioning that the parties made multiple mistakes, the state head said, “The Constituent Assembly (CA) too ended without promulgating the new constitution.”



President Yadav stressed unity among the political parties to institutionalize federal democratic republic in the country.



The president also inaugurated the new building of the school on the occasion.
