"A bus, Ba 2 9887, bound for Kathmandu ferrying passengers from Dharan veered off Khahare bridge and fell some 50 meters down into the Trishuli River this morning," confirmed Sub Inspector Rohit Dulal of Mugling Area Police Office. [break]
Two of the victims who were under the upturned bus have been retrieved while the two are yet to be rescued.
Most of the injured have been taken to Bharatpur hospital for treatment while some few are receiving treatment at a local health post, said police.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police personnel, who were deployed to the incident site, are rescuing the victims.
