All the seven victims were at a water mill installed on the river to grind corn when the slide swept them away as well as the mill. [break]
The mudslide that fell from 400 meters above swept the mill into the Sanibheri River. Police suspect the missing people were also swept into the Sanibheri river.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishan Singh Thapa of Rukum District Police Office, the seven missing persons are 52-year-old Jakmari Budha, her three daughters 10-year-old Chahana Budha, nine-year-old Sarita Budha and eight-year-old Pujini Budha, 19-year-old Sunita Gharti, Sunita´s one-year-old son Himangshu Gharti, and three-year-old daughter Anita Gharti.
Thapa said all of them are presumed dead as none of the bodies have been found yet.
Water level at the Sanibheri river is high and the possibility of finding the bodies is slim.
A police team led by Inspector Hari Singh Aryal and locals are still searching for the bodies of the missing people.
The incident site is six hours walk from the nearest police station at Ranmamainakot, and a three-day walk from the district headquarters Khalanga.
An army team from The Famous Mahindra Battalion is also searching for the missing people, according to Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Adhikari.
The army team is focusing on the banks of the Sanibheri river, Adhikari said.
Nineteen additional people have died in the district from landslides in three months. Majority of those killed or missing in the district are women and children.
