KATHMANDU, Nov 6: An aftershock of 5.8 magnitude jolted Jajarkot district on Monday afternoon. The epicenter of the tremor has been traced at Ramidanda of Jajarkot.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the aftershock occurred at 4:31 PM.
The recent aftershock marks the largest since the initial earthquake last Friday night that killed at least 153 people.
The aftershock has destroyed the houses that were partially damaged by Friday night’s earthquake, said Bir Bahadur Giri, chairman of Barekot Rural Municipality. He, however, said no human casualties occurred as the majority of people were sheltering in make-shift camps.
