Campion defends CPS Cup

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Campion Academy successfully defended the CPS Cup Inter-college Boys’ Basketball title winning the second edition of the tournament on Tuesday. [break]



Campion edged Prime College 56-52 in the deciding super league match of the tournament to accumulate nine points breaking the six-point tie between the teams.



Chetan Gurung topscored for Campion with 11 points while Most Valuable Player (MVP) Sushil Gurung’s 14 went in vain as he could not guide Prime to title.



Similarly, Trinity International College rode on 18 points each from Sujan Pun and Prateek to hammer John Bower College (JBC) 72-54 and finish third in the tournament.



Laxman Shrestha of JBC finished as the highest scorer accumulating 141 points in the tournament that featured 19 teams.
